Hairstylist David Stanwell created Elizabeth Olsen’s hairstyle using Leonor Greyl for the premiere of “Red Lights” at The Sundance Film Festival.

Channeling Brigitte Bardot, Stanwell created “a really nice blow out on Elizabeth using the Spray Structure Naturelle all over the base of her hair for body and lift.”

Using a large round brush, Stanwell styled the hair in sections to ensure a smooth effect.

Stanwell finished off the look with Leonor Greyl’s Laque Souple, a light styling spray, to protect against fly aways and ensure a light hold.

As an ongoing supporter of Global Green USA, Pureology is working towards a more sustainable future and enlisted Pureology stylists to lead the Eco-Chic Fashion Show hair team at Global Green USA’s 7th Annual Gorgeous and Green benefit in San Francisco, which celebrated the organization’s smart climate solutions. Over 300 attendees including Michelle Branch, Peter Mensah and Rosario Dawson (live via satellite) enjoyed a performance by Michelle Branch as well as an Eco-Chic Fashion Show, delicious organic treats, and sustainably sourced cocktails.

The Eco-Chic Fashion Show showcased top designers including Oliver Tolentino, Minolya, Daniel Sudar, PACT and Karen Caldwell who blend high style with sustainability. Pureology stylists Natasha Sunshine and Sherilynn Smart co-led the Eco-Chic Fashion Show with the Pureology hair team including PureArtists Stacey (Rae) Barnes and Shara Deaton.

“We are thrilled to be so involved in this event and style the hair for the Eco-Chic Fashion Show,” stated Pureology’s Natasha Sunshine of Byu-ti Hair Therapy, A Pureology Salon in Santa Monica and Sherilynn Smart of Sherilynn Jade Salon in Lafayette. “We collaborated with Lily Achatz, the eco-fashion show producer to develop the hair concept for the show – the vision was to juxtapose the elegant, sustainable designs with an edgy hair theme using many different curling irons.”

40’s Glamour with a 70’s Twist (Retro Curls)
– Begin with clean dry hair
– Heat two small curling irons (a ½ inch barrel and a ¾ inch barrel).
– Start at the nape spraying Pureology ColourStylist FortifyingHeatSpray protective primer before curling each 1 inch sized section with the smaller iron first. Continue until the entire nape is set.
– Switch to the larger ¾ inch iron and continue curling until you are two inches from your part line and stop leaving the roots straight.
– Place long clips at the line of separation between curl and straight hair and give an all over mist of ColourStylist StrengtheningControl zero dulling hairspray.
– Let hair set for 15 minutes. Add heat if possible (a heater or diffuser can work).
– Emulsify a pea-sized amount of ColourStylist CuticlePolisher with two sprays of ColourStylist RadianceAmplifier to create a beautiful polishing serum.
– From the bottom up, run fingers through the set to break up the curls and create voluminous width. Lace or tease under side of the hair for extra volume.
– Leaving your long clips in, give a final round of spray and remove clips to finish the look.

At the Chanel Show, Uma Thurman sat front row with her tousled Bohemian up-do by celebrity hairstylist David Babaii. He created this romantic and elegant style to emphasize Uma’s beautiful bone structure and timeless Chanel dress. Next, he dried her tresses using a small round brush to create both texture and curl.
